The data are transcribed from the book compiled by Charles Prinsep published by Truebner & Co in 1885.

Summary of Service  1845: Writer. 1847: Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Canara. 1852: Acting Head Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Canara. 1854: Acting Head Assistant to the Register to the Court of Sudder and Foujdarry Adawlut; Head Assistant to the Collector and Magistrate, Chingleput; Acting Deputy Register to the Court of Sudder and Foujdarry Adawlut; Acting Deputy Secretary to Government in the Departments under the Chief Secretary. 1855: Deputy Secretary to the Government under the Chief Secretary; afterwards Secretary to the Board of Examiners. 1856: On furlough to Europe. 1857: Acting Deputy Secretary to Government in the Revenue and Public Works Departments. 1858: Acting Deputy Collector of Sea Customs, Madras; afterwards Sub-Secretary to the Revenue Board. 1860: Acting Secretary to the Revenue Board. 1861: Secretary to the Revenue Board. 1865: Acting Secretary to Government, Revenue Department. 1867: Secretary to Government, Revenue Department. 1868: On furlough to Europe for 23 months. 1871: Acting Chief Secretary to Government. 1872: Chief Secretary to Government. 1873: Temporary Member of Council. 1874: On furlough to Europe for 12 months. 1875: Resumed Temporary Member of Council. 1877: Appointed Member of Council. 1881: Acting Governor of Fort St. George and President in Council. 1882: Made a C.S.I., 23rd May; Retired from service, 12th June. (Annuitant on the Fund.)
