CommentThese are summaries of the Services of Service of Madras Civil Servants entering the Service from 1740 to 1858. Evidently, several of them continued to serve beyond this date.

The data are transcribed from the book compiled by Charles Prinsep published by Truebner & Co in 1885.

Summary of Service  1855: Writer and Student at the College. 1856: Assistant to the Collector and Magistrate, Rajahmundry. 1859: Assistant at Godavari. 1860: Acting Head Assistant at Godavari. 1862: Invested with Full Powers of a Magistrate; Head Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Cuddapah, also at Godavari, at Kurnool, and at Madras; Acting Sub-Collector, afterwards Acting Sub-Collector and Joint Magistrate, Kistna. 1864: Justice of the Peace; On special leave in India for 4 months. 1865: Acting Sub-Collector, Kistna; Sub-Collector and Joint Magistrate, Cuddapah. 1866: Acting Civil and Sessions Judge, afterwards Sub-Collector, Cuddapah. 1870: On furlough on India for 8 months. 1871: Acting Collector and Magistrate, Cuddapah. 1872: Collector and Magistrate, Cuddapah. 1876: On furlough to Europe for 2 years. 1878: Collector at Cuddapah; Acting Third Member of the Revenue Board, afterwards Acting Second Member of the Revenue Board. 1882: Collector and Magistrate, Cuddapah. 1883: On furlough to Europe for 2 years. 1884: Retired from service, 31st December.
