CommentThese are summaries of the Services of Service of Madras Civil Servants entering the Service from 1740 to 1858. Evidently, several of them continued to serve beyond this date.

The data are transcribed from the book compiled by Charles Prinsep published by Truebner & Co in 1885.

Summary of Service  1857: Writer and Student at the College. 1858: Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Trichinopoly. 1859: On medical leave to Europe for 15 months. 1861: Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, South Arcot. 1862: Acting Head Assistant, Tanjore. 1864: Head Assistant at Tanjore and at Madura; Acting Judge of Small Cause Court, Madura; Acting Sub-Collector, South Arcot; Acting Sub-Collector and Joint Magistrate, Madura. 1865: Acting Sub-Collector and Joint Magistrate, Kistna. 1866: Acting Sub-Collector, Tanjore; Head Assistant to Collector and Joint Magistrate, South Arcot; Sub-Collector, Tanjore; on furlough to Europe for 14 months. 1867: Assistant and Acting Head Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Tanjore. 1868: Acting Principal Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, and Agent to the Governor, in Vizagapatam; Junior Assistant afterwards Senior Assistant, in Ganjam; Sub-Collector and Magistrate, Godavari. 1869: On furlough to Europe for 12 months. 1870: Retired from service, 6th October. (Invalid Annuitant.)
