CommentThese are summaries of the Services of Service of Madras Civil Servants entering the Service from 1740 to 1858. Evidently, several of them continued to serve beyond this date.

The data are transcribed from the book compiled by Charles Prinsep published by Truebner & Co in 1885.

Summary of Service  1850: Writer and Student at the College. 1851: Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Masulipatam.1855: Acting Head Assistant at Masulipatam; afterwards Head Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Rajahmundry; then Head Assistant at Masulipatam. 1859: Acting Sub-Collector and Magistrate, Masulipatam; afterwards Head Assistant and Acting Sub-Collector and Magistrate, Kistna. 1860: On furlough to Europe for 2 years. 1862: Acting Sub-Collector and Joint Magistrate , Godavari. 1863: Sub-Collector and Joint Magistrate, Kistna, but continuing to Act as before, Acting Civil and Sessions Judge, Rajahmundry. 1865: Sub-Collector and Joint Magistrate, Godavari; Acting Collector and Magistrate. Kistna. 1866: Acting Civil and Sessions Judge, Cuddapah; Acting Collector and Magistrate, Kistna, afterwards at Nellore, then at Kurnool. 1867: Collector and Magistrate, Kurnool. 1873: On furlough to Europe for 2 years. 1875: Retired from service, 8th April. (Annuitant on the Fund.)
