CommentThese are summaries of the Services of Service of Madras Civil Servants entering the Service from 1740 to 1858. Evidently, several of them continued to serve beyond this date.

The data are transcribed from the book compiled by Charles Prinsep published by Truebner & Co in 1885.

Summary of Service  1847: Writer. 1848: Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Canara. 1854: Acting Head Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Canara; afterwards Head Assistant at Bellary. 1856: Acting Sub-Judge, Cuddapah; afterwards at Chittoor; also Sub-Collector and Joint Magistrate, Masulipatam. 1857: Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, and Agent to the Governor of Fort St. George, in Vizagapatam. 1858: Senior Assistant to Collector and Magistrate , and Agent to the Governor in Ganjam; Acting Sub-Collector and Joint Magistrate, Masulipatam; Proceeded on furlough to Europe for 12 months. 1863: Retired from service, 5th January, in England. ( Annuitant on the Fund.) Died, 21st December, in England
