CommentIndex of names from 'A Hand Book to St Mary's Church, Fort St. George, Madras', written by the Rev. Charles Herbert Malden, Canon of St George's Cathedral, Madras and Garrison Chaplain, 1893-4 and 1901-6. The transcription is of The Old Tombstones | Outside St Mary's Church. The other memorials recorded in the book are of those inside the church.

The book contains a useful checklist (as at 1905) of the church's registers from 1680.

The book is in the library of the East India Club in St James's Square, London SW1Y 4LH.

Inscription  Here lies interred the body of MARY PARHAM, relict of the late Captain Jno. Parham, mariner, and eldest daughter of Stephen Poirier, Esq., Governor of the Island of St Helena, who departed this life the 8th day of January 1701.     
Comment by Rev. Charles Herbert Malden  Her father Capt. Stephen Poirier was Governor of St Helena from 1697 to 1707. See Gabriel Poirier.
