Body of text  GEORGE GREEN GILLAN, born 13th July, 1835, son of Robert G, DD, minister of Inchinnan; educated at Glasgow University: BA (1851), MA (1854); licensed by Presbytery of Glasgow, 22nd May, 1856; ordained to Inverteil 1858; translated to Dalmellington 15th December, 1859, resigned 25th October, 1865, chaplain at Bombay, 1866-88; admitted to this charge 24th October, 1888; DD, (Glasgow, 1901); died 20 June, 1913. He married 9th November, 1865, Agnes, daughter of David Woodburn, HEICS, Camlarg, Dalmellington, and has issue - Sir Robert Woodburn, KCSI, born 2nd August, 1867; David Hedley, MA, BD, senior chaplain St. Andrew's Church, Madras, born 20th December, 1869; a daughter born and died 1872; Jean Walker, born 4th January, 1875; Grace Green, born 31st December, 1877; William Woodburn, born 18th May, 1879.
