Body of text  JOHN DAWSON, born Fife, 10th July, 1833, son of James D, maltster ; educated at University of St. Andrew's ; assistant at Greenside, Edinburgh; ordained to Stobhill 22nd September, and appointed to a Bengal chaplaincy 29th December 1859 ; admitted minister of Dunnichen, 6th December, 1866 ; presented by James, Duke of Roxburghe, translated and admitted 9th September, 1869 ; died 1st December, 1879. He married 14th February, 1860, Marion Milne (born 6th January, 1834, died 30th April, 1905), daughter of William Davidson, ironmonger, Edinburgh and had issue - Elizabeth Walker, born 10th Augsut, 1865; Marion Milne; born 25th February 1868; Agnes born 25th June 1869; John, born 22nd December, 1870; Margaret Noble, born 22nd November, 1872; two sons and a daughter, who died young.
