He married 16th September, 1859, Helen (died 26th September, 1873), second daughter of James Brown, CA, Edinburgh, and Ann M'Kerrell and had issue - Alice Mary, born 23rd August, 1860; Annie Edith, sometime missionary of the Free Church at Calcutta, born 18th December, 1862; Robert Francis, born 23rd June, 1864, died 22nd May, 1902; Constance Helen, born 29th July 1865, died unmarried 25th August, 1884; Marion, born 4th November, 1867 (married 15th April, 1891, Colonel Charles Robert Dyer, Middlesex Regiment); William, born 14th November,1868, died 12th May, 1899. | | Note top of page | Synod of Merse and Teviotdale Presbytery of Jedburgh Parish of Teviothead |
