These photographs were taken by members and friends of FIBIS who went on a Family History Tour of East India in 2015. Thousands of photos were taken, and were very kindly donated for our website.

Inscription  Mrs FRANCES JOHNSON [who married 4 times had 6 children, 2 died] was the second Daughter of EDWARD Crook Governor of Fort St David on the Coast of Coromandel; born on the 10th of April 1725; married PERRY PURPLE TEMPLER Esq had issue two Children who died infants [died 25 Jan 1747]; 2nd Husband was JAMES ALTHAM of Calcutta Bengal who died of the Small Pox a few days after the marriage; 3rd Husband WILLIAM WATTS Esq then Senior Member of the Supreme Council of Bengal by whom she had issue four Children AMELIA married Charles Jenkinson issue 1 child Robert Banks; EDWARD of Hanslope Park, Bucks; SOPHIA widow of George Poyntz Ricketts; WILLIAM who died an infant. After the death of Mr Watts she in 1771 she married Revd WILLIAM JOHNSON principle Chaplain of the Presidency of Fort William by whom she had no issue; She died the 3rd of February 1812 aged 87 The eldest British resident in Bengal universally beloved respected and revered
