These photographs were taken by members and friends of FIBIS who went on a Family History Tour of East India in 2015. Thousands of photos were taken, and were very kindly donated for our website.

Inscription  This monument is erected by Sir David Ochterlony and the officers of the army under his command to the memory of Lieutenant Peter Lawtie of the corps of engineers in the army of Bengal who at the age of twenty-three, at the close of the first campaign of the Nepal war to the successful termination of which, his exertions had eminently contributed, fell a victim to his devotion in the service of his country, beloved, respected and admired obiit anno MDCCCXV [1815].
