Service  Major Denniss served throughout the Sutlej Campaign in 45, 46. Present at the actions of Ferozeshuhur and Sobraon (severely wounded in the latter engagement). Medal and Clasp. Burmah, 52, 53; present at the re-capture of Pegu, under the Command of General Godwin, 21st November 52, in Command of 9th Company, part of the storming party against the stockade. Medal. Present with his Regiment at the battle of Badlee-ka-Serai under the Command of Sir Henry Burnard, on the 8th of June 57, and in the operations against the city of Delhi; succeeded to the Command of the Regiment on Colonel Welchman being severely wounded, on the 23rd June 57, in the Subzee Mundee, when he was struck down by a coup-de-soleil. {Since dead). Medal and Clasp.
