Summary of Service  1857: Writer and Student at the College. 1859: On leave to Bengal for 6 months; Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Trichinopoly. 1861: Officiating Head Assistant at Malabar; Justice of the Peace. 1862: Invested with Full Powers of a Magistrate. 1863: Special Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, and Acting Head Assistant, Malabar; Special Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Coimbatore . 1866: Acting Judge of Small Cause Court, Tellicherry. 1868: Acting Civil and Sessions Judge, Tellicherry; afterwards at Calicut. 1869: On furlough to Europe for 2 years. 1871: Resumed Judge of Small Cause Court, Tellicherry; Acting Collector and Magistrate, Malabar; also at Kistna. 1872: Acting Civil and Sessions Judge, Guntoor. 1873: Judge of Small Cause Court, Vellore; District and Sessions Judge, Guntoor; afterwards at Salem. 1876: On furlough to Europe for 2 years. 1878: Acting Resident, Travancore and Cochin. 1879: District and Sessions Judge, Salem. 1880: On Special Duty as Arbitrator of Boundary Disputes between Travancore and Cochin. 1881: Acting Resident, Travancore and Cochin. 1882: Resident at Travancore and Cochin. 1883: On furlough to Europe for 15 months. 1884: Resumed Resident at Travancore and Cochin.
