CommentThese are summaries of the Services of Service of Madras Civil Servants entering the Service from 1740 to 1858. Evidently, several of them continued to serve beyond this date.

The data are transcribed from the book compiled by Charles Prinsep published by Truebner & Co in 1885.

Summary of Service  1855: Writer and Student at the College. 1856: Assistant, afterwards Acting Head Assistant, to Collector and Magistrate, Coimbatore. 1858: Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, and Agent to the Governor of Fort St. George, in Vizagapatam; Acting Head Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Coimbatore. 1859: Head Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Salem; officiating Subordinate Judge, Combaconum. 1860: On medical leave for 3 years and 9 months. 1863: Acting Sub-Collector and Joint Magistrate, Madras. 1864: Acting Prinicipal Assistant to Collector and Magistrate , and Agent to the Governor, in Vizagapatam; also Head Assistant at Nellore. 1865: Principal Assistant at Vizagapatam; Sub-Collector and Joint Magistrate, Nellore. 1867: Acting Collector and Magistrate, Nellore. 1868: Acting Collector and Magistrate, South Canara. 1869: In the same capacity at Kistna. 1870: Collector and Magistrate, Kistna. 1871: On furlough to Europe for 12 months. 1872: Died, 6th January, in England
