Co.'s Madras Civil Service, 1826 : Magistrate and Collector of Ganjam : retired, 1859 : became blind : published The Mastery System of Languages, or the Art of speaking Foreign Languages idiomatically, and manuals for several languages on his system, which he had applied to the Madras vernaculars : died Nov. 14, 1886.
