Algernon Peyton : educated at Eton : entered the Army, 1841 : served in China war, 1842 : Panjab campaign, 1848 : at the forcing of the Kohat Pass, 1850 : in the Peshawar expeditionary force under Sir Sydney Cotton on the Yusafzai frontier, and at Sitana, 1858 : in the mutiny in the Peshawar Division : commanded Lichfield District, 1878 : Shorncliffe Camp, 1877 : 2nd and 3rd Brigades at Aldershot, 1877-81 : Lt-General : C.B. : died Feb. 1905.
