Parlby : born 1783 : educated at Rugby : joined the Madras Army : in the 7th N.I. of the Hyderabad Subsidiary Force, was at Argaum, 1803 : wounded at Sassouigarm, Oct. 8, 1804, and at Gawilghar, Dec. 15, 1805 : in the first Burmese war, 1824- 5, commanded a Brigade in the attacks on Rangoon and Maloun, and other actions : C.B. : General, 1857 : died March 7, 1873.
