At the beginning of the mutiny he was old and helpless : surrendered to Captain Hodson (q.v.) on Sep. 21, 1857, after the capture of Delhi by the English : was brought to trial, Jan. 29 to March 9, 1858, on four main charges, including mutiny, rebellion, abetment of murder, and sentenced to transportation for life : was sent to Rangoon, and died there, 1862. |
