	Entry	King of Delhi : Abu Zaffar : son of the Emperor Akbar Shah : assumed the title of Bahadur Shah, on succeeding as Emperor at Delhi, on Sep. 28, 1837, at the age of about 60 : Lord Dalhousie proposed to remove him from the Palace at Delhi and received permission of the Home Government to do so, but deferred action. At the beginning of the mutiny he was old and helpless : surrendered to Captain Hodson (q.v.) on Sep. 21, 1857, after the capture of Delhi by the English : was brought to trial, Jan. 29 to March 9, 1858, on four main charges, including mutiny, rebellion, abetment of murder, and sentenced to transportation for life : was sent to Rangoon, and died there, 1862.
