Entry  Captain : was in the Black Hole at Calcutta, June, 1756, and there gave up his place at the window to J. Z. Holwell (q.v.) : his pocket-book supplied Orme (q.v.) with his account of the siege of Calcutta, 1756 : he survived 55 years, dying in 1811.
