Indies and China in 1832 : in 1837 in the Afghan war, took Karachi and protected the landing of the troops : in the disturbances at Bushire brought away the Resident and Staff : died on his ship at sea, near Bombay, Nov. 30, 1839 : a monument was erected to him in Bombay cathedral. |
