Summary Remarks  On the 21st Instant a Body of the Enemy's Cavalry made their appearance before the Pettah of Chingleput, and formed to meditate a Lodgement in the same, but on Lieutenant Stamford's being sent out to receive them; they thought it more prudent to depart without making the attempt.
