Entry  Born Feb. 10, 1775: son of John Lamb : educated at Christ's Hospital : became a clerk in the accountant's office in the India House, 1792, and retired in 1825 on a pension of three-fourths of his salary : died Dec. 27, 1834 : he corresponded with Thomas Manning (q.v.) : apart from this his connexion with India appears to have been limited to his official duties : his literary work requires no mention here.
