	Entry	Son of George Dundas, Scotch judge : born Sep. 12, 1842 : educated at the Edinburgh Academy and Addiscombe : went to India in the Royal Engineers, March, 1862 : became a Captain : gained his V.C. in the Bhutan expedition of 1864-5 for personal bravery in storming, under very trying conditions, a blockhouse, defended by 200 desperate men : in the Afghan war of 1878-80, he and another officer were killed by an accident near Kabul on Dec. 23, 1879 : he was an officer of high professional merit and promise.
