He married 1834, Jane Thompson, Belford, and had issue - William, MD, died at Juniper Green 18th April 1875, aged 40; Peter James, died at Edinburgh 10th November 1860 when about to be licensed as a preacher, aged 24; Thomas, MD, died at Williamstown, Australia, 21st November 1890; James Grant, died at Coquimbo, Chile, S America, 10th July 1901; Mary Anne, born 24th September 1850 (married 10th July 1888, David Lindsay), died at Edinburgh 29th June 1925. |
