Body of text  DUNCAN, JOHN MENZIES BAILLIE, born 3rd September 1879, son of Henry D, minister of Crichton; educated at Merchiston Castle School and University of Edinburgh; MA (1901), BD (1905); licensed by Presbytery of Edinburgh in 1905; appointed missionary to Calcutta 11th July that year; ordained (by Presbytery of Edinburgh) 15th October same year; resigned March 1917; admitted to St Bride's Chapel, Edinburgh, 13th February 1915; appointed joint-secretary for Scotland and translator for Bengal Religious Tract Society, 1st January 1920; translated to Tynecastle 30th April 1924. Married 28th September 1905, Clara, daughter of Richard Brown and Ann Smith, and has issue - Clara Cecilia, born 17th October 1906; John Henry, born 30th September 1908; Jean Mary, born 27th January 1910; George Baillie, born 28th May 1912.
