Body of text  SCOTT, THOMAS, born Old Machar, 27th January 1853, son of Alexander S; educated at Grammar School and University of Aberdeen; MA (1872); licensed by Presbytery of Aberdeen 6th July 1875; assistant at Elchies 1875-8, Cullen 1878-9, Coupar-Angus 1879-81, and Holburn (Ruthrieston) ]881; ordained (by Presbytery of Aberdeen) chaplain at Mhow, India, that year, Rawal Pindi 1888; appointed to Indian chaplaincy, Bengal Establishment, 1889; served in Chitral Relief Expedition (despatches) 1895; Presidency senior chaplain and senior chaplain, Calcutta, 1900; retired 1907.
