Body of text  NELSON, ALLAN MANSON, born 13th March 1873, son of Gilbert N and Mary Manson; educated at Hutcheson's Grammar School and University of Glasgow; licensed by Presbytery of Glasgow 6th May 1896 ; assistant at Saddell (Kintyre), Muirkirk, and St Michael's, Dumfries; ordained (by Presbytery of Dumfries) to Cawnpore, India, 17th February 1901 (under Colonial Committee); translated to chaplaincy on Indian Ecclesiastical Establishment 18th November 1903; senior chaplain 24th March 1914; served with Mesopotamia Expeditionary Force 1916; Presidency senior chaplain, Bombay, and senior chaplain, St Andrew's Church, Bombay, July 1921; retired March 1924; admitted minister of Tundergarth 19th September that year. Married 30th April 1914, Agnes Mary, daughter of Alexander Reid Saunders, minister of Lerwick.
