Body of text  JAMES PAISLEY LANG, born 25th April, 1846, fifth son of Gavin L,minister of Glasford; educated at the Collegiate School and University of Glasgow; licensed by Presbytery of Hamilton July 1867; ordained for Church of Scotland Mission, Sialkot, India, 22nd August, 1867; admitted chaplain, Madras, 18th January, 1875; admitted (assistant and successor) 14th March 1878. Married Frances Anne, daughter of Colonel John Holbrow, Indian Army, and has issue - Frances Marion Marshall (married Colonel Thomas Holbrow Goldney, CB, 35th Sikhs); Edith Holbrow (married Robert Henderson Paton, MA); Anna Margaret Cunliffe (married James Anderson Taylor, MD, Dunkeld); George Holbrow, DSO, Commander RN
