Body of text  WILLIAM ALEXANDER LISTON, born 25th August, 1840, son of Wiliam L, minister of Redgorton; educated at Redgorton and Perth Schools, and University of Edinburgh; licensed by Presbytery of Perth; assistant at St. Paul's, Perth, and St. John's Glasgow; ordained assistant chaplain, St. Amdrew's Church, Madras, 1866; retired as senior chaplain in the Madras Presidency, 1886, appointed to this charge 17th February, 1889; admitted first minister of the parish 1st August, 1890; died 12th April 1915; He married 30 November, 1871, Patricia, daughter of Peter Napier, DD, minister of Blackfriars Parish, Glasgow and had issue - Major William Glenn, MD, CIE, born 30th July, 1873; Margaret Constance Isabella, born 5th November, 1874, died 23rd December, 1890; Mary Forbes, MB, ChB, Merryflats Govan, born 1st November, 1876; Patricia Napier, born 10th August, 1879 ( married 16th October, 1902, Major George Lamb, IMS)- In memoriam, by AL, 1915)
