By Holmes and Co., printed by W Thacker and Co 1851. | Date transcribed | 2010-08-01 | Transcribed by | Peter Bailey | Comment | South Park Street Burial Ground begins on page 106 of the book and ends on page 176 - listing all inscriptions found in that cemetery as at 1851.
Records transcribed to date are from 1800 onwards. These are not in date sequence and so this Part 2 is the first part of subsequent records. Further records will be transcribed and included in Part 3, etc. until all are completed up to 1851. |
| Surname | Grant | | Forename(s) | Lewis | | Year of Death | 1813 | | Inscription | Sacred to the Memory of Lewis Grant, who departed this life on the 3rd day of March A.D. 1813, aged 38 years. His early death involves in grief severe, A loving partner and five infants dear. The former while she mourns her widow'd fate, Beholds the latter and laments their state. Too soon, Alas! depriv'd of their best guide They're left to traverse life's inconstant tide. But tho' with perils their conditions fraught, To rest on God their little hearts are taught, And deeply as their loss they do deplore They trust for safety in His mercies store. |
