Sacred to the Memory of Lieutenant Charles Scott Waring, Adjutant to the Body Guard of The Right Honorable the Governor General, Obit. 2d Feb. 1813, Aetat. 26. His cheerful disposition, conciliatory manners, and unaffected simplicity of character; endeared him to his relatives and friends, and acquired him the regard of all who knew him. While his conduct in his profession, obtained him the public applause, and private regard of his noble patron; who represented him where most he was emulous of being known, as a youth of the first promise. Past are those hopes, closed are those views which promised to realize his moderate desires; and which opening bright prospects to his relatives and friends; now spread a deeper gloom over his sad loss. |
