CommentThese are summaries of the Services of Service of Madras Civil Servants entering the Service from 1740 to 1858. Evidently, several of them continued to serve beyond this date.

The data are transcribed from the book compiled by Charles Prinsep published by Truebner & Co in 1885.

Summary of Service  1822: Writer. 1824: Assistant to the Principal Collector of Tanjore. 1826: Head Assistant to the Collector and Magistrate of Tinnevelly. 1828: Junior Deputy Secretary to the Board of Revenue. 1830: Senior Deputy Secretary to the Board of Revenue. 1830: Secretary to the Commissioners for the Government of Mysore; Acting Secretary to the Board of Revenue; Joint Magistrate and Deputy Collector of Salem. 1834: At home on absentee allowance. 1837: Returned to India, via Egypt. 1838: Collector and Magistrate of Ganjam and and Commissioner of Goomsoor. 1849: Resigned the service , 6th June. (Annuitant on the Fund, 1849) Died, 29th June, 1851.
