The best qualities of head and heart combined alike to distinguish his public and private life. Sub-Treasurer of this Presidency for 16 years, he discharged the duties of that responsible office with firmness, rectitude, and ability, equal to every emergency, whilst his modest unaffected worth conciliated the love and respect of all who knew him. ""Rich in good works"" and patiently resigned to the Divine will, He expired after a long and painful illness, on the 16th of April 1833, aged 49 years. |
