This Officer was the youngest son of Dr. Spencer Madan, Lord Bishop of Peterborough, and the Lady Charlotte, second daughter of Charles Earl Cornwallis� [went out to India with Lord Cornwallis when he was Governor-General to the East Indies, on his staff, served 6 years, brought home dispatches after Tippoo's submission. Married in 1793 Frances, 3rd daughter of the late Archdeacon Falconer, who survives him, no issue, buried at Stone church near Lichfield. Pages 470-471]. |
