Service  Captain Reid served during the Punjab Campaign, 48, 49: present throughout the siege of Mooltan, and as Staff Officer to Colonel Young at the storm of the heights, on 27th and 28th December 48; present at the battle of Goojerat, Medal and 2 Clasps. Mentioned in the Despatch of General Whish, 7th March 49. Served as Principal Civil Officer with the Force under Colonel Davidson, in pursuit of the Mooltan mutineers, 58. Received the thanks of Government, 27th September 58; also the thanks of the Chief Commissioner, 11th October 58.
