Service  Major-General Lawrence served on board the Astell, East Indiaman, in Command of two guns on her quarter deck, in a severe action fought in the Mosambique Channel on the 3rd July 10, between three Indiamen, and two French Frigates and a Corvette. Served in the operations against and at the attack of the Fortress of Malown, in the Nepal War of 14, 15. Served with the Reserve of the Grand Army during the Maharattah Campaign of 17, 18, and 19 ; also against the Coles in 35; and in Command of a Brigade of all arms against the same Tribes, in 36, 37. Medal.
