Service  Assistant-Surgeon Duff served with HMs 60th Rifles and 75th Regiment throughout the Delhi Campaign of 57. Present at the emeute at Meerut, 10th May; with the Force under Brigadier Wilson at both engagements on the Hindun, 30th and 31st May: at the affair of Bhagput, on the Jumna, 20th June, and through the whole of the siege operations against Delhi, from the 20th June to the assault and capture of the city on the 14th September. Joined the Army of occupation at Alum Bagh under General Outram, on the 14th February 58; and was present at the storming and capture of Lucknow under Lord Clyde. Medal and 2 Clasps. Present at the operations in Oude under Lord Clyde, which resulted in the evacuation of the Forts of Ameatie and Shunkurpore, and defeat of Banimadho, at Buxar Ghaut, on the 24th November; and at the bombardment and capture of Omriah by Brigadier Evelegh, on the 2nd December; served in Medical Charge of the 3rd Regiment Hodsons Horse, against the rebels on the Nepal Frontier, during April and May 59.
