Service  Lieutenant Dick served with the Kamptee Moveable Column, in the Saugor and Nerbudda Territories, from August 57 to February 58. Present at the actions of Kutungee, near Jubbulpore, on 27th September 58; and Moorwarra, on 6th November 58. Mentioned in the Despatch of Major Sullivan, Commanding Detachment, Kamptee Moveable Column, G. G. O., No. 241, of 58. Served with the Saugor Field Division from February 58 to February 59. Present at the action of Banda, on the19th April 58, and at the capture of Kirwee, in June 53. Also in the action at Sahao, near Jaloun, on 5th September 58. Wounded severely by sabre cuts in the latter action. Medal for Indian Rebellion and Clasp for Central India. Mentioned in the Despatches of Major Davis, Commanding Cavalry, 2nd Brigade Saugor Field Division, and of Brigadier MacDuff, Commanding 2nd Brigade Saugor Field Division, G. G. O., No.420, of 58. Brought to the notice of the Commander-in-Chief in the Despatch of Brigadier MacDuff, and in letter No. 330, dated 9th September 58, from Major-General Whitlock, Commanding Saugor Field Division, to the address of Major-General Mansfield, G. G. O., No. 420, of 58. Served in the Districts of Trans-Gogra, Oude, throughout the hot weather Campaign of 59. Present at the actions of Koolee-ka-Bund, near Gonda, on 13th April 59, and capture of the Fort of Bungaon, on the 27th April 59. Mentioned in the Despatches of Captain Jones, Commanding 1st Sikh Irregular Cavalry, and of Lieutenant-Colonel Walker, Commanding Field Detachment, G. G. O., No. 749, of 59. Received the thanks of Government, vide G. G. O., No. 749, of 59. Served throughout the China Expedition of 60. Present at the action of Sinho, on 12th August 60. Capture of the Takee Forts, on the 21st August 60. Actions of "Chankia-wan," 18th September; "Palichao," 21st September; and capture and occupation of Pekin, 13th October 60. Medal for China War and Clasps for "Takee" Forts and "Pekin". Mentioned in the list of Officers of Her Majestys Indian Forces recommended to favorable notice by General Sir J. Hope Grant, for their services in China, G. G. O., No. 167, of 61.
