Present at the skirmishes of 17th, 18th, and 19th September; action of Mungulwara, Alum Bagh, and relief of Lucknow, 25th September 57 (slightly wounded). Besieged with that garrison for 2 months, and the day before being relieved by Lord Clyde, led 100 men of the Regiment of Ferozepore as part of a storming party to the Kings stables and steam engine house. Put up one of the colors of the Regiment of Ferozepore under a heavy fire at one of our outposts to serve as a guide to Lord Clydes Army, when coming into Lucknow. Served with the entrenched camp under Sir J. Outram, K.C.B., at Alum Bagh, 57, 58. Present at the recapture of Lucknow by Lord Clyde. Served with a Force under Sir H. Grant at the crossing of the Gogra, at Fyzabad, November 58. Served on the Nepal Frontier, under Brigadier Rowcroft, C.B., in 59. Medal and 2 Clasps. |
