Served throughout the Indian Mutiny in 57 with No. 21 Field Battery. Was present at the action near Agra against the Neemuch Mutineers, on the 5th July (horse killed under him}, also at Etiamadpore, Chelaree, 16th August, Maun Sings garden, and Mynpooree. Was wounded in three places in the action near Allygurh, 24th August. Engaged against the Indore, Delhi, and Mhow Mutineers, under Colonel Greathed, and present at the taking of Futtehpore-Sikree, with the Force of Colonel Cotton. Accompanied the Columns of Colonels Cotton and Riddle. Medal. Served throughout the operations in 62, in the Cossyah and Jyntia Hills, as Aide-de-Camp to General St. George Showers. |
