In Medical Charge of 400 men of the 1st European Bengal Fusiliers, and 2 Squadrons of Her Majestys 9th Lancers. Present at the battle of Badlee-ka-Serai, 8th June 57, and throughout the siege of Delhi, till the capture of that City. Served with the Column under Brigadier Gerrard, in the Rewarree District, against the Jeypore and Joudpore rebels. Served under Sir T. Seaton, during his operations in the Doab. Present at the actions of Gungeeree, Puttiallee and Mynpooree. Served with the Army under Lord Clyde, at Lucknow. Present at the affair on crossing the Goomtee, and with the storming party of the 1st Fusiliers, who took the enemys first position, at the " Chuckees Kotee," and other points, in their line of defence. Present throughout the siege of Lucknow. Medal and 2 Clasps. Served under Sir Hope Grant in Oude. Present during the engagement with the mutineers at Baree, and served other minor operations against the rebels. Mentioned in the Despatch of Major Hume, September 59. |
