Wounded in an engagement with Sikh Cavalry, 30th January 49. Received the thanks of the Commander-in-Chief, 30th January 49. Present at the pursuit of the Sikh Army and final surrender at Rawul Pindee, to Sir W. R. Gilbert. Mentioned in the Despatch of Brigadier Hearsey to the Commander-in-Chief, 7th March 49. Promoted to the rank of Brevet-Major for service in the Punjab Campaign. Served at Mooltan during the Mutiny. Disarmed the 62nd and 69th Native Infantry. Engaged against the Googaira rebels. Besieged in the Serai of Cheekawutne for four days. Promoted to the rank of Brevet-Lieutenant-Colonel for services during the Mutiny, 57. Received the thanks of Government, 4th August 59. Medal.
