Service  Major Caulfield served with the Force under Brigadier Sir H. Wheeler, in the Punjab Campaign, 48, 49. Medal. Present at the actions of Nudjufghur, 25th August 57, under Brigadier-General Nicholson, and assault of Delhi, 14th September 57. Wounded slightly. Medal and Clasp. Present at the action of Narnoul, 14th November 57, in Command of the 1st Bengal Fusiliers as well as the Infantry of the Column, under Colonel Gerrard, and succeeded in action to the Command of the Column, on that Officers being mortally wounded, Present at the actions of Gungeeree, Puttiallee, and Mynpooree; in Command of the 1st Fusiliers under Brigadier Sir T. Seaton, December 59. Promoted to rank of Brevet-Major for service in the Campaign.
