Service  Surgeon Cape served with the Goorkha Force under Command of Maharajah Jung Bahadoor, and with it was present at the siege and capture of Lucknow. Served with a body of the Oude Military Police, and with it was surrounded and shut up in the Town of Sandula by a large rebel force from Seetapore, under Nurpurt Sing and other leaders. Subsequently took part in the operations of Brigadier Sir G. Barker, with whose Force these Police were incorporated, and was pre­sent in two engagements. Services mentioned in the Despatch of Sir G. Barker, 31st December 1858. Medal and Clasp.
