Service  Lieutenant Campbell served in the Mutiny, 57. Present at the Mutiny of Lucknow, 30th May, and with the Force that drove the rebels out of the station next day. Served throughout the defence of the Residency of Lucknow, from 30th June to 22nd November 57. Served as a Volunteer with Her Majestys 78th Highlanders; accompanied the Force under Colonel Napier that went out to the Mootee Munzil, to bring in the sick, wounded, heavy guns, and ammunition left behind by the relieving Force under Sir J. Outram; was sent in to report to Sir J. Outram, at night, that more doolies were required for the sick and wounded. Served at the recapture of Cawnpore. Lucknow defence. Medal and Clasp.
