Service  Lieutenant Campbell served in 57 at the capture of Delhi, with the 1st European Bengal Fusiliers, and with the 2nd European Bengal Fusiliers in the subsequent operations in the Meerut, Jhuggur, and Rewarree Districts, with Brigadier Showers Column. Was attached to the faithful remnants of the 11th Native Infantry, and engaged in rescuing the Rohilcund refugees. Served in 58 with the 2nd Punjab Cavalry at the seige and capture of Lucknow, with Sir J. H. Grants Column, at the action of Koorsee; with the Force under Brigadier-General Walpole, at the capture of Rooya and action of Alligunge; with the Army of H. E. the C.-in-C., at the capture of Bareilly, and with a detached Force under Major Browne, at the action of Rohunpore. Served in 59 with the Rohilcund Column against the rebels in the Terai. Medal and 2 Clasps. Served in the expedition against the Cabul Khel Wuzeerees, in 59, 60, under Command of Brigadier-General R. Chamberlain.
