Service  Captain Campbell served with the late 47th Native Infantry, with the Army of the Sutlej, in 45, 46. Present at the actions of Moodkee and Ferozeshuhur. Wounded severely. Medal and Clasp. Served as Quarter-Master in the expedition under Colonel Mackeson, against the Hussunzaie Tribe, on the Huzara border, in 52, 53. Served as Officiating Staff Officer, Punjab Irregular Force, with the expedition against the Boydar Tribe of Beeloochees, on the Dehra Ghazee Khan border, in 57. Present at the taking of the Khanbund Defile, on the 7th March 57.
