To the Mother an only son. To whose worthy memory and good faines I thy only wife exhibits this perminanent tomb. And was I possessd of wealth in store would have embelished thy tomb with gold or more. But at present circumstanced as I am subdued my wishes in giving lustre to thy name. Mr Mackertoon Simon who was the head Clerk and interpreter of Madras Police for the space of eight years. And also was an Armenian Interpreter of the Supreme Court for a space of Ten years has departed this life in the forty fifth year of his age on the sixth of November 1812 at three Oclock on Friday Morning leaving an infant son and a wife to deplore his loss inexpressible | | Photographer | Andrew Cumine |
