Francis Hastings acted as Governor of Madras from Jan 18th 1720 to October 15th 1721 when he was superseded by Nathaniel Elwick. He died December 15, 1721 and was buried here on December 19. He was the first Governor of Madras who was buried in the church. The others lie inside, or in the old Guava Garden. |
