CommentIndex of names from 'A Hand Book to St Mary's Church, Fort St. George, Madras', written by the Rev. Charles Herbert Malden, Canon of St George's Cathedral, Madras and Garrison Chaplain, 1893-4 and 1901-6. The transcription is of The Old Tombstones | Outside St Mary's Church. The other memorials recorded in the book are of those inside the church.

The book contains a useful checklist (as at 1905) of the church's registers from 1680.

The book is in the library of the East India Club in St James's Square, London SW1Y 4LH.

Description of Gravestone  Coat of arms with hour glasses and emblems of mortality. Inscription in Portuguese.    
Inscription  Here lies buried Francisca Melicque daughter of Louis Melicque and Antonia Pestanha, a native of Madras-patam who was wife to Don Jerome (a word untranslateable) and who died at the birth of her second child at the age of 17 years on the 6th of January 1720. May she rest in peace.
